How to enable email logging
If you want to keep a record of all emails that are sent from your site you can enable the Email Logging feature.
Enable email logging
To enable it, go to Groundhogg > Settings > Email and scroll to the Email Logging Section.
Groundhogg will only retain logs for a specific number of days so as not to bloat the database.
Enabling logs does not work retroactively, emails sent after the logs were enabled will be recorded.
Once a log entry becomes older than the retention setting, it will be automatically deleted, there is no way to recover deleted log entries.
Viewing email logs
To view the email logs go to Groundhogg > Logs > Email.
You can filter the logs by date or by email status.
Interacting with email logs
To see the details of an email that was sent, hover over the log entry and click view details
Upon opening an entry, a modal will show where you can see the Subject line, recipient details, sender details, headers, and a preview of the email that was sent.
Resending emails
If a contact did not receive an email, or the email failed to send, you can attempt to resend it by hovering over the log entry and click Resend.
You can also resend emails in bulk using the bulk actions and selecting several emails.
Testing emails
You can set WordPress Email, Transactional Email, and Marketing Email to Log Only. This option provides a useful way to test for staging or development environments.
Enabling log-only mode and Email logging will log the event to the Email log and add it to the Activity feed of the Contact, but it won't be sent out.
