Can I add an attachment to my emails?

When it comes to attaching files to marketing emails, we recommend the following: Don’t Do It!

Here are a few reasons why...

  1. ISPs may flag your marketing emails as spam, especially if they contain attachments. Even if you bypass the ISP's server, popular email services like Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, and Yahoo! often block promotional emails with attachments. This significantly reduces the effectiveness of your email campaign.
  2. If your email manages to bypass an ISP, it's still likely to be seen as spam by your subscriber. When crafting each campaign, ask yourself: "Would I open this?" This simple question helps gauge how your audience will perceive your message. Think about how an attachment might appear to a new subscriber unfamiliar with your emails. They could easily mistake it for a virus from an unknown sender, leading them to mark it as spam and unsubscribe.
  3. Minimize large emails to avoid delays and extra costs. Attachments increase file sizes, slowing down sending times and requiring more server resources. This can affect campaign performance and lead to significant delivery delays.

Rather than sending the file as an attachment, upload your files to the WordPress media folder, or any other sharable file box(Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.com, etc.) location and send a link to the download in the email.
