Contact Birthdays: Introduction

Wishing a Happy Birthday to your clients opens up a new possibility for the business and Groundhogg has got you covered with the Contacts Birthday plugin.

Groundhogg's contact plugin can be used to create birthday funnels that run on the day of a contact's birthday.

You can download a copy of your birthday plugin on the Groundhogg website, or it is included in the Plus plan.

Once you have successfully installed the birthday plugin you will be able to [ Add Field ] and see a new Type that is used to retrieve contacts' birthdays when a contact fills out the registration form.

Once you have the birthday data you can use the Groundhogg funnel builder to create a funnel according to your requirements. 

To start this birthday funnel you need to use the Birthday benchmark as a step within a funnel.

Scenario: You want to send an email 3 days before the contact's birthday.

Create birthday Funnel
Drag the Tag Applied benchmark into the flow
Drag the Field Timer benchmark into the flow
Set the "Wait until..." for how many days before, use the {birthday} replacement code, set a time
Add an action you wish to take such as Send email action, Send SMS action
