SMTP: Connect to Zoho

If you plan to use Zoho to send out emails follow the steps below. 

To get started with this service, you need to go to Groundhogg's website and download the SMTP plugin, or get it as part of the basic plan (or above) and install it on your website. 

Once you successfully activated the Groundhogg SMTP plugin you will be able to see new settings inside the Groundhogg > Settings > Email tab.

Zoho can use two different security types, SSL or TLS.

SMTP Configuration settings - SSL

Outgoing Server Settings: (Personal users with an email address, username@zoho.com):

Outgoing Server Name:  smtp.zoho.com
Port:  465
Security Type:  SSL 
Require Authentication:  Yes. 

Outgoing Server Settings: (Organization users with a domain-based email address, you@yourdomain.com):

Outgoing Server Name:  smtppro.zoho.com
Port: 587 with TLS
Require Authentication:  Yes

The email address should match the email address/ email aliases of the account, for which the authentication details are provided. 

SMTP Configuration settings - TLS

Outgoing Server Name:  smtp.zoho.com
Port:  587
Security Type:  TLS 

Require Authentication:  Yes. The email address should match the email address/ email aliases of the account, for which the authentication details are provided. 

You need to update all the values with the details provided by your SMTP service provider. Once added, click on save changes. You should then find that the enable option for sending a test email has been activated. 

Click on the “Send Test Email” button. It will send a test email to the current user's email address. You can make sure this service is working by checking your email inbox. If you do not see an email in your inbox make sure the email did not get delivered in the spam folder.
