How To Bulk Edit Contacts

Bulk editing contacts in Groundhogg lets you update multiple contact records at once—saving you time when managing tags, custom fields, or statuses. Whether you’re adding a “VIP” tag to top customers, updating event attendees’ locations, or fixing opt-in statuses for an imported list, this feature streamlines your workflow.

Follow these steps to bulk edit your contacts:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts Screen
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Groundhogg > Contacts. This opens the main contact management interface.
  2. Search for Contacts to Edit
Use the search bar or advanced filters to find the contacts you want to update. For example, search by tag, email domain, or custom field value.
  3. Click to see a larger version
  4. Open More Actions
Locate the Bulk Actions dropdown menu. Click it to reveal available options.
  5. Choose Edit X contacts
From the dropdown, select Edit X contact. This opens the bulk editing interface.
  6. Click to see a larger version
  7. Modify Contact Fields
In the bulk edit window, update fields like tags, status, or custom data. For example:
    • Remove a tag: Type “Import - 2025-03-20 14:41:54” in the Remove Tags field.
    • Change status: Select “Confirmed” from the dropdown.
    • Update a custom field: Enter a new value (e.g., “New York” for Location).
  8. Apply Changes
Click Edit X Contacts to save your edits. Groundhogg will process the updates and refresh the contact list.
Note: Large batches may take a few seconds to complete.
