WooCommerce Integration: Introduction

WooCommerce is one of many eCommerce solutions that are available for WordPress. Groundhogg has an integration with WooCommerce.

The WooCommerce integration is available as part of our Pro plan, or you can buy the extension individually. Once WooCommerce, Groundhogg, and the WooCommerce extension for Groundhogg is installed and activated, you will have access to all of this.

Benchmarks

These benchmarks can be used at the beginning of a funnel, and the contact will automatically go into the funnel when the added benchmark happens. Right now, the benchmarks that Groundhogg has for WooCommerce are:

New Order: This benchmark executes when a new order is placed and can be defined with Any/All If the order contains these products, And with Any/All contains products in these categories, And with Any/All contains products with these tags, And order subtotal is (Equal to, less than, less than or equal to, greater than, greater than or equal to) the value of the order, And was processed via any of these payment gateways.

Order Status Changed: This benchmark executes when the status of the order changes from one status to another, which could mean from (Pending payment, Processing, On Hold, Completed, Cancelled, Refunded, Failed, Draft or other custom statuses). Also can be defined with Any/All If the order contains these products, And with Any/All contains products in these categories, And with Any/All contains products with these tags, And order subtotal is (Equal to, less than, less than or equal to, greater than, greater than or equal to) the value of the order, And was processed via any of these payment gateways.

Cart Updated: This benchmark executes when the cart is updated and can be defined with Any/All If the cart contains these products, And with Any/All contains products in these categories, And with Any/All contains products with these tags, And value of the cart is (Equal to, less than, less than or equal to, greater than, greater than or equal to) the value of the order.

Emptied Cart: This benchmark executes when users remove all the products from their carts.

Cart Abandoned: This benchmark executes when the cart is abandoned and can be defined with Any/All when the cart is abandoned and contains these products, And with Any/All contains products in these categories, And with Any/All contains products with these tags, And value of the cart is (Equal to, less than, less than or equal to, greater than, greater than or equal to) the value of the order.

Product purchased: This benchmark executes when the user successfully purchases (Any Product is purchased, A product with the following tags is purchased,  A product with the following categories is purchased, Any of the following products are purchased).

Reached Checkout: This benchmark executes when users reached the checkout page while buying the product.

Payment Gateway: This benchmark executes when  (Any payment gateway is used, Any of the following gateways are used)

Example Funnel

Let’s take for example a customer that adds anything to their shopping cart, then empty’s it. Here’s an example on how your funnel may go.

This way, the customer is reminded (by an email) that they have added something to their shopping cart (and maybe you want to offer them a discount to encourage them to check out). Then, if they still don’t buy anything, wait 12 hours (to not annoy the customer with many emails). After that time, send another reminder email (this time maybe offering a bigger discount or asking why they haven’t bought something yet, to see if anything is stopping them).

If they empty their cart at any time while in the funnel, they can get an email letting them know they emptied their cart (and maybe offering a reminder of what was in their cart, and offering another discount).

Replacement Codes

Want to have certain things in your emails that you don’t have to create each time? Replacement codes can do that, and Groundhogg has a number of replacement codes for WooCommerce.

You can use these replacement codes in any Groundhogg email.

Tagging when buying something

With the Groundhogg integration, you can go into the data of any product and have any tag applied or removed. This happens when the order is marked as paid or complete (based on which occurs first). This is great if you want to see at a glance what products someone has purchased.

To do this, you will want to edit your product, then go down to Product data. You will see a Groundhogg Integration where you can add or remove tags.

Editing a WooCommerce product, in the Groundhogg integration, inside of Apply Tags, added a Subcribed tag as an example.

Sync previous orders with Groundhogg

If you have used WooCommerce before installing Groundhogg then the WooCommerce orders won’t be synced with the Groundhogg contacts. You can sync them using our Sync WooCommerce Orders, which you can find under Tools → Misc → Sync WooCommerce Orders.

Inside of the Groundhogg tools, the Sync WooCommerce Orders section is surrounded by red to highlight it

Please be patience while they sync, especially if you have tons of orders.

Reporting

Want to find the best (and worst) converting emails and funnels to know what is working well for you (and what isn’t)? With our WooCommerce integration, you can know without having to dive into many settings.

To do this, you go into Groundhogg’s Reporting, then the WooCommerce tab will show all the reporting.
